About the Discount Calculator
Shopping a sale? The discount calculator shows the final price after a percentage discount and how much money you save. It also handles stacked offers such as “25% off plus an extra 10%”, which are not the same as 35% off.
How to Use the Discount Calculator
- Enter the original price.
- Enter the discount percentage, and any extra discount.
- Press Calculate to see the final price and your savings.
Formula and How It Works
Sale price = original price × (1 − discount ÷ 100). An extra discount is applied to the already reduced price: final = sale price × (1 − extra ÷ 100).
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 20% + 10% off the same as 30% off?
No. 20% then 10% off equals 28% off in total, because the second discount is taken from the lower price.
How do I find the original price?
Divide the sale price by (1 − discount ÷ 100). For example, 75 after 25% off was 75 ÷ 0.75 = 100.
